An introduction to gymnastics for two year olds. Class will instill confidence while the child explores new experiences. Children are taught basic gymnastics skills which helps develop hand-eye coordination, and using gymnastics apparatus which helps build strength and develop better balance.
This co-ed class focuses on teaching your child how to progress through activity stations. Classes focus on stretching and reviewing basic body positions. Students will roll, jump, kick, hop and go upside down on the floor; walk, jump and kick on the beam and swing, roll, support their weight and go backwards on the bars. All of the skills learned in this class are progressions for greater skills, which will prepare your child for advancement to the next level.
This program is broken into levels based on skill and ability. These classes teach good gymnastics skills through positive coaching methods that emphasize progression and proper technique for each skill. This program also helps build self-esteem through the mastery of the fundamentals of gymnastics. Moving from one level up to the next requires mastery of a set of skills specific to the current class level. Levels are determined through evaluations by the coach.
Classes levels consist of Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each of these classes require skills that must be achieved in order to advance to the next level. Activities include Tumbling, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bar, Trampoline, and Conditioning.
