These co-ed adult/child together classes focus on teaching gym safety and works to get children active and comfortable with gymnastics equipment. Child/adult pair rotate through stations together with teacher guidance. Classes focus on stretching and basic body positions. All of the skills learned in this class are progressions for greater skills, which will prepare your child for advancement to preschool classes independently.
These co-ed classes focuses on teaching your child how to progress through activity stations. Classes focus on stretching and reviewing basic body positions. Students will roll, jump, kick, hop and go upside down on the floor; walk, jump and kick on the beam and swing, roll, support their weight and go backwards on the bars. All of the skills learned in this class are progressions for greater skills, which will prepare your child for advancement to the next level.
This program is broken into levels based on skill and ability. These classes teach good gymnastics skills through positive coaching methods that emphasize progression and proper technique for each skill. This program also helps build self-esteem through the mastery of the fundamentals of gymnastics. Moving from one level up to the next requires mastery of a set of skills specific to the current class level. Levels are determined through evaluations by the coach.
Classes levels consist of Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each of these classes require skills that must be achieved in order to advance to the next level. Activities include Tumbling, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bar, Trampoline, and Conditioning.
Encompasses all aspects of tumbling for both those looking to spend time in cheerleading and those wanting to simply learn to tumble rather than engage in all aspects of gymnastics. This program is broken into three skill/ability specific levels: beginning, intermediate, and advanced.
Beginning ~ introduces students to tumbling and teaches the basic skills from forward and backward rolls up to back bends and roundoffs.
Intermediate ~ helps students perfect roundoffs, back bends and back handsprings.
Advanced ~ teaches and introduces students to more difficult skills such as multiple back handsprings, aerials, and back tucks.
Parkour is the art of moving over, through, under, or around obstacles, utilizing the natural movements of the human body with freestyle and/or gymnastics style techniques.
Being taught how to safely and efficiently move over obstacles in one’s path, around stumbling blocks, and through any element.
Goldens's Gymnastics offers many opportunities for gymnasts to participate in competitive gymnastics. Our team gymnasts compete in Xcel under the AAU/GIJO Gymnastics’ Junior Olympic Program.
Team commitment is for one year, typically running July-June.
